Gambling Prevention

Gambling Prevention provides Wallowa County with awareness, education, and prevention strategies to prevent disordered gambling. Disordered gambling (previously called “problem gambling”) occurs in our community. Wallowa County prevention seeks to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors attributed to disordered gambling.

Drug and Alcohol Prevention

Building Healthy Families and Wallowa County Prevention is dedicated to creating a safer community for all. The substance prevention team imparts individual knowledge and community education about alcohol and other substances. Wallowa County Prevention recognizes the impact that substance disorders and misuse have on individuals, relationships, and communities. We work diligently to provide prevention strategies that are centered in evidence-based harm reduction. We are committed to providing intersectional services that challenge stigma and cultivate community connections.

Protect Our Children

Stewards of Children® is a prevention training that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program is designed for organizations that serve youth and for individuals concerned about the safety of children. It is the only nationally distributed, evidence-informed program proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors. If you are interested in participating in this training, call us to find out when the next session is. We can also set up a special training if your organization is interested!
