Building Healthy Families is the go-to organization for Parent Education across rural eastern Oregon. We offer a diverse menu of parent support and education opportunities for families that includes parent education series, themed workshops and a number of home visitation programs. Building Healthy Families is proud to be a founding member of the Oregon Parent Education Collaborative and has worked with private funders to train staff in 5 different evidence-based curriculum to meet the unique needs of families with kids from 0-18. See the Events Calendar on this page or visit us on Facebook to see our current and upcoming offerings.
SAFE SITTER + SAFE AT HOME CLASSES
Building Healthy Families has several trained Safe Sitter® staff and offers this important class multiple times per year. Safe Sitter’s goal is to provide life skills, safety skills, and child care training to all youth in order to build safer communities. This course applies whether youth are learning to be safe while home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting.
Course content includes safety skills, child care skills, first aid and rescue skills, and life and business skills.
